Adiponectin One of the Good Ingredients from Fat
- by Matt Nilsen
Adiponectin is a substance that exists in fat tissue, that increases insulin sensitivity in muscles, and decreases the narrowing of the arteries known as atherosclerosis. Scientists have been studying adiponectin for quite some time to understand what causes some people to have ample adiponectin while others lack it. A recent article published in the journal Diabetes found two genetic influences that can weaken the quality or amount of adioponectin that a person's body produces. So, this could be yet another genetic predisposition for diabetes.
If you would like to learn more about adiponectin click on the following article about adiponectin protecting people from heart disease. Keep in mind it talks about findings in animals, so the findings are not likely to be exactly equal in humans. It is a starting point in the research.
